If you enjoyed the first Lt. Leary book, then you will love the rest of the series. Drake has a wide pool of ancient yarns to allegory, and you are in for some fun times when the Russians show up.
The Northworld trilogy is also very good, but it is not the fun space opera that the Leary books are. It is much darker (since it draws from a darker source.)

This could have been the Year in Drake for me, or the Year in Drake and O'Brian, instead of the Year in Books. I do have Northworld and several others in the hopper. And I'm mostly through the Balefires short story collection.
