Robert Bussard
I haven't seen an official note yet, but Rand Simberg has posted that Robert Bussard has passed away. Wikipedia confirms this. He threw off ideas the way some folks shed skin. Physics will be that much the poorer for his death.

Yeah, a damn shame. A very interesting guy. Still, he was nearly 80 and working right up until the end. If I have to go, that's the way I'd want it.

No dang Bussard Interstellar Ramjets yet, though. Or his household fusion generator the size of a kitchen appliance.
He was one interesting guy.
