1 I know it's not exactly the first thing that would come to mind, but.... The initial part of "Old Man's War" describes accurately what it feels like for a person born with HBS - Harry Benjamin Syndrome, or Transsexuality - to transition. You lose everything, usually. Family, job, friends, you may have to change career. Your whole life, everything you own, every achievement, erased. But you also have a body that finally *feels right*. I can't explain it. Old Man's War does it so accurately though that I wondered if anyone who's TS had advised the author.
