Random Thoughts on Aging

The best thing I read on the Internet today, by RP:

I am feeling more curmudgeonly with every passing day. At this rate, I am going to just calcify in place.

Good thing we're having another baby. That keeps you young.

Or leaves you so tired you can't remember how old you are.

Amen, brother.

Update: Clarification! We are not expecting another baby. Just read "Good thing we have young kids" where RP says "Good thing we're having another baby."

1 Oh, dear. Are you all expecting another child, too? Did I miss this news somehow?

2 No we aren't. Three's enough and a urologist took care of matters for me almost exactly six years ago. Just agreement with your last two sentences. Here's how I would paraphrase for me: "Good thing I have kids. That keeps you young. Or leaves you so tired you can't remember how old you are."

3 I am told that I have a date with a urologist too. We should chat about that. I'd be interested in hearing your take on it.

4 While I realize medical science has probably progressed since the era of the following story, I think it might still be worth mentioning: Quite a number of years back, my mother made "a date with a urologist" for my father. And he eventually had a certain procedure performed. When Dad came home from said procedure, my pet chihuahua was *very* happy to see him. And at the very first opportunity, jumped in his lap. Nuff said?...

5 I have recently entered the unknown waters of Adoption. It is scary, but it's something that we have to do.
