NaNoWriMo 2006
Well, I've foolishly decided to tilt at the
literary windmill again this year. I hardly lasted 3 days last year. And so far I only have a few hundred words this year.
No problem. This time around, I have taken the wise step of associating with some other like-minded writers to create an anthology of "Giant Evil Space Robot" fiction. By aggregating our work, we can reach the 50,000-word goal, without (we hope) creating too much unreadable dreck.
I'm spending a bit more time on plotting this time around, with the hope of producing something better. Check back every few days. Blogging will be light, but a bit more steady than it has been. Especially if I get in procrastination mode and avoid writing fiction by noodling around here.

Take heart: After several tries over the years, I hit a critical mass point this fall and wrote a 40,000 word book over only two months. Once you finally do get your brain warapped around the project, it will take on a life of its own. Mine's with an editor right now and ought to be printed in December after one more round of revisions.
Take a looooooong view.

Well, I am trying to get my own literary career off the ground by networking. I am now posting from the World Fantasy Convention in beautiful Austin. Got to meet Joe Halderman, L.E.Modesitt, Lynn Flewellen, Eric Flynt, Micheal Moorcock, David Drake, Glenn Cook, David Duncan, and Carol Berg(nicest person in the world).
I am meeting editors and learning what I have to do to get published.
